During the latest Nintendo Direct event, Square Enix revealed that a free demo for Octopath Traveler 2 would be released. Although it was only available for a brief period, the company took advantage of the opportunity to showcase the game through the demo trailer, which introduces the world and its main characters.
Octopath Traveler 2 is set to be released soon, and unlike its predecessor, it will be available not only on Nintendo Switch but also on PC and PlayStation. The demo, which is typical of Square Enix's previous JRPG demos, allows players to play the game for up to three hours from the beginning. Since it is not the complete version, movement is restricted to specific areas of the game, which can be fully explored within the time limit.
The demo's standout feature is that users can transfer their progress files to the full release of Octopath Traveler 2. Many players are unlikely to want to replay the same part of the game, given that it only takes three hours. As long as the demo is played on the same device, Octopath Traveler 2 will automatically detect the save file. Players can try out the free demo of Octopath Traveler 2 on the Switch eShop.
